Provide technical support to VSU faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with campus technology both on-site and over the phone, maintaining VSU-owned IT equipment, troubleshooting, and repairing, maintaining, and distributing campus technology. Shifts range from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. These positions are for on-site work. All applicants will be required to complete a brief, hands-on technical evaluation. IT uniform shirts are issued.
TECHNICAL RESPONSE UNIT - Main Campus

Technical Response Unit technicians for the main campus are stationed in key IT walk-up support locations such as Pine Hall and Odum Library and may be deployed to provide rapid support to campus users requiring technical assistance. These positions are responsible for providing customer service and technical support to the faculty, staff, and students of the university. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting clients, supporting the initiatives of the division and area supervisors, and supporting various campus events. These technicians are also responsible for preventative maintenance in classrooms and computer labs, as well as providing support for student wireless connections in residence halls.

Work closely with IT Communications and Support to assist faculty and staff with various software issues, develop and/or edit training and assessment materials (handouts, presentations, video, surveys), assist and/or lead training workshops, maintain department website and social media outlets, and compose professional emails, newsletters, video content, and instructional material. Graduate Assistant will need to be able to learn new technologies and skills in limited time, with limited supervision. All majors are welcome. Preferred majors are Leadership, Technology & Workforce Development, Communication, Marketing, I/O Psychology, CS/CIS.
Individuals working for Division of Information Technology are working with confidential information and will be required to sign and adhere to confidentiality agreements.
Applicant must be accepted into a VSU graduate program and enrolled in at least 6 graduate credit hours to be eligible.
Stipend: $3,000 per semester with tuition waiver
Hours: 19 hours per week
Fall: August 14 - December 13, 2024
Spring: January 8 - May 9, 2025
